men style

It does seem like they're wearing it inside their pants and as lining for their jackets. At first glance, one thinks the clothes must feel clunky, especially because men are supposed to walk in them, not use them to save the drowning.

But Calvin Klein's Fall 2009 collection is hailed as a new vision, a way of adapting to the current financial and economic climate. Call it protection or call it a more solid expression of masculinity, there is something valiant and heroic in the presentation of a new form and silhouette. Besides, the house has been known as a master of technology and technique.

The seemingly stiff jackets are excellently paired with less structured and synthetic looking pants.

I'm beginning to develop an infatuation with the powder blue color of the jacket on the right. It looks just right with varying shades of gray.

Though this hue of blue is tantalizing, there's too much of it for the season. Of course, that doesn't stop anyone from falling for the cut of the pants and the collar of the shirt on the right.

The color on the left is more like it, while the coat on the right is interesting: tweed (donegal or Harris?) in a different shade, compared to that used for the outfits below, which may not be mistaken for styrofoam, but brandish the same kind of masculinity.

These suits in black are classic Calvin Klein, updated with the new cut and material. Notice that the coats and jacket have a very distinct sheen, and how thin the ties are.

Men.style.com is right. Donegal tweed is a definite trend for the season. The outift on the left is the best I've seen as of yet. Though it looks totally traditional, I'm sure the feel of the fabric, once worn, can transform any outlook.

Hot pink Hijab Style

Hot Pink & White.....I like this colors together!

also Hot pink & Black.

blue style

Megan at Beach Bungalow 8 recently hosted the exact party I've been fantasizing about. Held in her front yard, the baby shower's blues and whites color scheme was sweet without being saccharine, with no cheese in sight. My kind of party.

Megan found an ebay seller that offered Blue Willow plates for $4 each, and bought the rattan chargers at Pottery Barn and World Market.

Burlap covered the table, and fresh limes served as placecards. Blue and purple hydrangeas, green PeeGee hydrangeas and white roses were arranged in silver bowls.

I've been wanting to throw a blue-and-white themed party since I stumbled on this idea board at Style Me Pretty. I love the crisp, summery look.

Blue and white can also take on a slightly vintage feel (as seen on this board from Snippet & Ink), which is the direction I'm hoping to go for a shower for my sister at the end of the month. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!

Katy Perry has an amazing sense of style

Katy Perry has an amazing sense of style
that can only come from having an amazing sense of self.

She comes across as confident and brave taking her
retro kitschy style, at times, to the extreme.

I am personally a big fan of the pin-up look.
Rompers, bright colours and prints...
all with the bangs and hair adornments in place...

Not usually something you can easily pull off doing the groceries...
But Katy Perry always seems to have the perfect occasions to wear onesies :)

Love the hearts on the butt-cheeks of this one.
It really puts the literal meaning into "cheeky"

BUT Katy Perry also has a very glamourous, slightly less quirky style
that is dripping in feminine sophistication.

The above and below pics are my favourite red carpet dresses.
They are still in keeping with her style without being too costume-y.

Not to mention that the lovely blush shade is ultra flattering with her hair and skin tone.

Perry has absolutely managed to master the art of being cute and sexy at the same time.
Something I had mentioned, in an earlier post, that Zooey Deschanel is also an expert at.

I admire women who can pull this balance off.... because it's tricky!
I try, myself, but I find I just end up looking cute and not necessarily sexy....

Maybe its all in the attitude!

Katy Perry also has a playful risk-taking style that allows her to express her individuality and sense of humour though her wardrobe choices.

This (above) colour changing dress manages to be futuristic, artistic, and ethereal simultaneously.

You can tell that Perry really embraces using what she wears as an opportunity to get noticed and be creative.

She's mastered the art of not taking herself too seriously.

I don't think she has a hard time getting noticed.....

Especially not while wearing that (above) outfit.
